Do you use rock salt on character-home stairs?

No. Rock salt damages sandstone, brick mortar, and slate. Dunbar character-home contracts use traction sand pre-storm, mechanical clearing during the event, and pet-safe potassium-formate granules at the entry — never sodium chloride on the stairs themselves.

Is your de-icer safe for dogs?

The granules we apply at entries, walkways, and stairs are potassium-formate based, which is non-toxic to paws and to dogs that lick their paws after walking on treated surfaces. The CMA blend we use on sidewalks is also safer than rock salt. We do not use traditional ice melt anywhere on a Dunbar property unless specifically requested.

Can you handle my West 41st storefront before opening?

Yes. Our commercial corridor crew is on-site by 4:30 AM during snow events to clear sidewalk frontage, the storefront entry, and the bus-stop pad. Most stores are ready for a 7:00 AM opening with no delay.
